Whether Adam and Eve, the snake and the fruit actually existed is irrelevant. The question is whether Adam and Eve will be resurrected according to JW doctrine is the question.

Pale.Emperor » Basically, Jehovah just loves killing people for sins their fathers, grandfathers and distant grandfathers have done. Adam and Eve messed up so let's punish them... and any kids they'll have.
If this is what the JWs teach, they've missed the entire point of both the Old and New Testaments. I've read some of the early articles by Charles T. Russell and though I didn't agree with much of his doctrine, I didn't find him particularly shallow. But after reading some articles by Rutherford, I came away thinking of him as little more than a rank showman. That he should be revered by the JWs when he should be an embarassment is something I've never understood.
Scripturally speaking, Yahweh was anxious to forgive sin and never held the children responsible for the sins of the fathers.
The scripture indicates that Yahweh was born into mortality as Jesus. Yahweh is not the Father, but the Son.Ezekiel 18
20 The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the LordGod: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? ...
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
--------------
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel,* every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
* For the Father judgeth no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son. - John 5:22
BTW, This is not the kind of God who gives one chance and it's over. Neither is that the message of the prodigal son. The Lord did not dispose of Adam/Eve, nor Israel. The JWs are wrong.

In JW theology, what happens to Adam and Eve? Are they resurrected and become heirs to Paradise on Earth? Or will they become two of the heavenly class? I tried finding the answer at JW.org, but no answer came up except for their sin in the Garden.

That's but one example in a whole slew. That red book on Revelation is full of the WTS applying scripture to events that happened in the early 1900s. I don't know who gets to apply scriptures to events -- whether it was something Joseph Ruthersford wrote at the time or later. Some are outrageous, but so humorous that I love reading them. How can you stay mad at such guys? They certainly are bold in their proclamations! And shameless. But they run it up the flagpole and everyone salutes, so what can you say?

After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.
by new boy ini turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.
she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.
i stopped going to meetings.

Wayward » According to their doctrines, I'd have been doomed because Jah won't accept any new recruits or returning sheep after the Tribulation starts.
That's the whole idea behind the tribulation according to most Christian religions. Accordingly, God calls prophets, warns mankind and then, if man fails to respond, a tribulation of some sort results. It may be drought, floods, famine, but it's always done to turn people back to God, not to torture them.
Most Christians also see the final tribulation as occurring in Jerusalem. The Beast of Revelation, known in the Old Testament as Gog, will make a seven-year piece treaty with Israel. During the first three and a half years, the Jews will use their temple and reestablish animal sacrifice. After that period, the Beast will finally reveal his true colors and bring down all the nations under his control in an attempt to destroy the Jewish nations once and for all. That's when the so-called tribulation begins. The JWs formulated their key doctrines before Israel was reestablished and as a result wrote the Jewish state out of the equation. They also made the Beast the U.N., even though Ezekiel specifically identifies the nations that would be under his control:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you. -Ezekiel 38
This encompasses all the Muslim nations in the region: Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia. So the JW eschatology is flawed before their book is even written.

I've read the red book that the WTBTS published and it so reminds me of a book I was given by a Hari Krishna guy in Chicago. It showed blue-skinned people wearing exotic clothing and curved swords. I tried getting into it, but even though I knew each word individually, put them together and I had no clue. It was so esoteric that it was meaningless. The red book was far easier to grasp, but no more believable, and the "fulfillments" the writers imagined were so mindnumbingly bizarre that I could scarcely follow them across the tapestry of the early 1900s where the early history of the Society was interwoven with John's Apocalypse. The two prophets of Revelation 11 became a group of Bible students persecuted by the clergy in Canada from 1914-1918! Like the two prophets of Revelation 11, mentored by John, Isaiah and Zechariah, these Bible students were figuratively brought back to life in 1918 with favorable rulings by courts. "What a shock for those persecutors!" the book says.
Yes, well, it was certainly a shock for me, too! How prescient of the prophets to have foreseen these Bible students in 1918 (in Canada!). And how perceptive of the Governing Body to have correlated the two events! I've got to admit, I never would have seen it in a hundred years. I'm just breathless when I see these things being fulfilled before my eyes!
Seriously, how can people buy into this type of stuff?

Wait For It » I was publicly reproved once.
What can one get publicly reproved for? Sounds like there is a great deal of discipline in the religion. If you're disfellowshiped, they don't say why at the podium, right? But if you're reproved, it almost begs the question.

Is this when the shunning begins? I knew people get disfellowshiped, but I didn't realize it was that humiliating. Why don't they mount some strong computer controlled directional lights that can light up anyone in the congregation? That way you can make the announcement, darken the rest of the room and bring the flashing lights to bear on the poor soul. I mean, that would be really humiliating. You might even be able to drive the vile apostate to suicide!
I guess this thing really is more of a society than a church. Are these people who are disfellowshiped actually likely to show up for the announcement? Were any of you guys present for the announcement when you were DF'ed? And when the meeting breaks, do people just treat the person like they're not there? Are you allowed to even nod at the people or do you just become invisible?
